This site is all about the best places to stay on Britain’s coast.

One of our original criteria for inclusion on the site was that each hotel had to have that precious ‘sea view’…but then we realised that there are many great places in coastal towns that still celebrate their ‘coastalness’ even though there are no sea views….they may be a few streets behind the front..or in a square away from the promenade or a short drive away, but they are all defined by being on or near the coast…and so are truly ‘coastal hotels’ as opposed to ‘country-house hotels’ or ‘city centre hotels’.

Hence you will find on here all sorts of establishments….from the ‘Grand Dames’ to smaller ‘Bed and Breakfasts’ from ‘Boutique Townhouses’ to ‘Corporate Chic’, from ‘Traditional Inns’ to ‘Restaurants with Rooms’.…..the one thing they all have in common is that they each celebrate their British ‘coastal ness’ with style, with character, and individuality…the coast is their influence and their reason for existing.
